Former Cincinnati Reds & MLB All-Star Ken Griffey Sr. Talks About His Book

Former Cincinnati Reds All-Star Ken Griffey Sr. Talks About His Book on The Total Celebrity Show, a Division of The Simply G Media Network

Simply G Media Network today announces the release of an interview with former Cincinnati Reds outfielder Ken Griffey Sr. with host Neil Haley, the Total Tutor.

Neil Haley, The Total Tutor host of the Total Celebrity Show, interviewed MLB Legend Ken Griffey Sr. to find out about his career, his book and his charity work.
Griffey, who is the father of future MLB Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr., made a name for himself as a member of the 1975 and 1976 World Champion Cincinnati Reds teams, who were nicknamed The Big Red Machine. A former outfielder, Griffey now serves as manager of the Bakersfield Blaze, the Cincinnati Reds’ Single A minor league affiliate.
In the interview, Griffey discussed that he was only 25 years old when he ended up winning his first World Series, before repeating the same feat the following year. He talked about what made the Reds team of the mid-70s so great.
“Everyone knew exactly what to do,” Griffey said. “We had a lot of fun doing it. We had some pranksters like Tony Perez. Tony and others kept people up and alive, and we had a lot of fun doing it.”
Griffey talked highly of his teammates, and mentioned that while the starting eight always got credit for carrying The Big Red Machine, it was the solid pitching staff that helped pave the way. “People did not give our pitching staff credit. They always kept us in the game. Those guys were outstanding.”
Griffey went on to explain his theory on why the dominant Reds team of the ’70s stopped winning.
“When they started dismantling the team, we lost Tony Perez and then we lost Pete Rose. We got beat by Pittsburgh. That was the end of a great run.”
Griffey also talked about the major players on the Big Red Machine. “Pete Rose was a hard worker and was very intense. But he had fun. Pete Rose is Cincinnati. He was our Captain. He’d get a hit, then Morgan would get a hit, then I’d get a hit, then Foster would get a hit. It was a machine.”
“Johnny Bench was a little different. He had a cannon for arm and he could hit. You could not blow high fastballs by him. He’d drive it to right field or center field. We played like a business. We made the game physical.”
CEO of Simply G Media, GJ Reynolds said, “I was a huge fan of the Big Red Machine, growing up. I loved watching Ken Griffey, Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, Pete Rose and the rest of the Big Red Machine.”

Enthusiasm & Inspired Feeling by Napoleon Hill

Enthusiasm is one of the more powerful means by which we may put into ACTION our education, experience and knowledge.

Spoken words without ENTHUSIASM are often ineffective, and sometimes they can be actually boresome as you, of course know, if you have noticed the effect a speaker without ENTHUSIASM has on his listeners.
I have known lecturers to hold audiences spellbound for two hours, yet, when members of the audiences were asked to tell what the speaker had said they could not remember. But, what they did remember was that the speaker got their attention and held it.
Now let me explain how and why ENTHUSIASM has such a powerful impact upon the minds of those who come under its influence. To begin with I believe you will be interested in knowing that YOUR BRAIN and every other person’s brain is both a broadcasting station and a receiving station which sends out thought vibrations and picks up those sent out by other people.
When you turn on your ENTHUSIASM you step up the vibrations of the thoughts which go out from your brain so that they reach and affect other people more quickly. As a matter of fact you can send out thoughts which have been so stepped up with silent ENTHUSIASM that they will reach and influence other people to whom you direct your thoughts. This is a fact which has been known to psychologists for ages, and it is also known to most Master Salesmen who use this method to condition the minds of their prospective buyers before they ever talk with them.
You must have observed that ENTHUSIASM is very contagious—that it engages the attention of those who come under its influence and causes them to respond in a similar spirit of ENTHUSIASM.
I once heard Andrew Carnegie say that if you turned loose one man who thought in terms of intense ENTHUSIASM, in an industrial plant employing thousands of people, this man’s ENTHUSIASM would very quickly reach and influence every person in the plant. And he said that it made not the slightest difference whether the ENTHUSIASM was negative or positive, constructive or destructive.
Then Mr. Carnegie went on to explain that in his selection of employees for promotion to bigger jobs the first thing he looked for was a man’s capacity to express himself in terms of intense ENTHUSIASM. He said that ENTHUSIASM is one of the most important traits necessary for leadership.

John C. Maxwell: Be a Time Machine

You can’t make up for lost time, but you can use it more efficiently.
There are 1,440 minutes in a day. That’s all you’re going to have. Nobody gets more than that; time isn’t a renewable resource. So you need to find ways to make the most of what you have. What you do—and don’t do—determines your level of success.
When I was young, I thought I could do everything; but as I get up in years, I am more protective of my time than ever. As Chinese author and philosopher Lin Yutang said, “Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of leaving things undone. The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of nonessentials.”
Your ability to think strategically about your day will make an enormous difference in your productivity and profitability. Highly successful people are experts at managing their time and priorities.
The good news is you don’t need to go to school or read 50 books to become a time management expert. You just have to master five practices:
    1. Plan each day before it starts. “Never begin the day until it is finished on paper,” Jim Rohn said. “Either you run the day or the day runs you.”
Every minute you spend in planning saves you as many as 10 minutes in execution. It only takes a few moments to diligently plan your day, but this small investment will save you hours in wasted time and effort.
One of the things I do when planning is to ask myself what is the main event of the day? I want to know what one thing I must do well in order for the day to be a success. With that answer in mind, I can approach the day with focus and purpose.
    2. Schedule your top priorities first. All items on your to-do list do not hold equal weight in value or importance. Most people schedule their days with a mix of high- and low-value activities. Don’t let the low-value ones hijack time and mental energy.
Identify your top priorities. Then put them in your calendar before anything else. My productivity went up tremendously the day I  started prioritizing. It also helped to preserve my values. For example, I schedule family time before anything business-related.

How a Positive Mental Attitude Can Bring Success by Napoleon Hill

Bert Cantrell, a successful industrialist, head of a large manufacturing company, and a long time student of the Science of Success, has given us an excellent demonstration of how a positive mental attitude can bring success. Let him tell his story in his own words:
“I originated a simple system which served as a check on my day to day control over my mental attitude, and it served to keep me reminded that only a positive mental attitude can possibly pay off in terms of success.
In one section of a little memorandum book which I carried in my pocket I carefully recorded every circumstance under which I expressed a negative mental attitude, including the length of time I permitted this attitude to prevail. In another section I carefully recorded every circumstance in which I acted entirely through a positive mental attitude.
When I added up the results I discovered, to my astonishment, that every form of activity in which I engaged while I was motivated by a positive mental attitude led to a successful conclusion. And I also discovered that every circumstance in which I moved under the influence of a negative mental attitude ended in disaster.
In neither of these instances did the results vary. Naturally this experiment led to careful control of my mental attitude at all times, and within a surprisingly short time I found I had developed the habit of doing all my thinking with a positive mental attitude.
This habit attracted people to me and made it easy for me to relate myself to them in a way which was beneficial to all parties concerned. It helped me to negotiate successfully with difficult people. It aided me in settling many business situations harmoniously, situations which were of such a nature that only a positive mental attitude could have brought success.”

Five Star Ambassador Entrepreneur GJ Reynolds Releases New Interview on His Success Steps to Keeping New Year’s Resolutions

Simply G Media Network today announced the release of a recent interview with Entrepreneur and Vi Five Star Ambassador GJ Reynolds on Beachlifestyle Radio Show – hosted by Neil Haley, The Total Tutor.

Neil Haley, The Total Tutor and host of the Beachlifestyle Radio show, sat down this week with entrepreneurial icon GJ Reynolds to find out how he keeps his New Year’s Resolutions. Reynolds is a Five Star Ambassador, Vi Millionaire, CEO of Simply G Media, and an original equity holder in the company Visalus. He is also the author of The Playful and Powerful Warrior Within You. Reynolds was eager to share his insights, and offered pointers for how others can harness the determination to accomplish their goals.
“I am amazed to see how GJ sticks with his New Year’s Resolutions, even through the challenges,” said Haley. “Resolutions have turned into something many people almost expect to give up on before long, but GJ’s practical advice makes it all seem so much more attainable.”
Reynolds asserts that in order to maintain resolutions throughout the year, it’s crucial for a person to be clear about his or her mission, and also understand the steps needed to see it through. Regardless of the nature of the goal, it can be translated into actionable steps that – when followed daily – will move the needle closer and closer to achievement.
“Some people set too many goals and they give up,” said Reynolds. “Make your list or dream board and choose to accomplish it.“
Reynolds breaks up his goals into five primary categories:
    •     Financial goals
    •     Life goals
    •     Family goals
    •     Health goals
    •     Spiritual goals
By segmenting goals this way, Reynolds is able to look at them in an organized way and develop a realistic plan of attack for working on each area every day.
“If I do not accomplish the goals in a year, but I’ve made steps toward it, then I’m still much closer to the finish line for that goal,” said Reynolds.
In discussing the Visalus community, he emphasized the importance of keeping company with like-minded people. He firmly believes that being around others who have the drive to get results and can offer support along the way is one of the best ways to keep morale high.
As a supplement to his interview, Reynolds has created a document on tactics for accomplishing resolutions through the end of the year. He is providing an extra incentive for readers, who will be entered to win exclusive prizes and chances for additional learning opportunities.
To enter to win prizes like hats, T-shirts, Reynolds’s book, and a grand prize of a 90-day personal mentorship with Reynolds, please visit http://www.simplyg.com/resolution.
