Industry Veteran and Vi 5-Star Ambassador GJ Reynolds Talks ViSalus Leadership

Industry Veteran and Vi 5-Star Ambassador GJ Reynolds Talks ViSalus Leadership

GJ Reynolds has been with ViSalus long enough to witness firsthand how everything rises and falls on leadership. Throughout the past 9 years, this Vi 5-Star Ambassador has seen the good and the ugly that can come from leadership, or lack thereof. This insight has enabled GJ along with his wife, Alita, to build a strong team of leaders from the inside out.
Of course, one might think that after almost a decade of being a top industry veteran and a Vi Millionaire who has transformed thousands of lives, GJ would want to take his foot off the entrepreneurial pedal and cruise a bit. But talk to GJ for even a minute, and you’ll discover that he has no intention of standing still. In fact, GJ would tell you he is challenging himself every day, and is actively leading by example to show what it means to truly live and promote the Vi Life—with no wavering, no noise, no excuses.
We recently asked GJ to share his thoughts on Vi leadership and how he is rebuilding his team around core values and culture.
Vi: What’s different between where Vi was and where they are today in terms of a leadership culture?
GJ: One of the reasons why we as a company rose so high in 2010 was because of our core leadership and values. Then, we started getting away from that. People hit their lid, and there were some false leaders. Strong leadership is the key to the fundamental success of where we’re going, and this year I see such a commitment to this unlike ever before. We now have both a solid business model and culture, and I’m excited for what the future holds for us.
Vi: Many of Vi’s top leaders are being mentored by John C. Maxwell as part of the Leadership & Influence Development (LID) program. What changes are you seeing already?
GJ: We are doing leadership training both at corporate and in the Vi Community, and I’m seeing such a common bond around our shared vision and mission. We’re congruent and aligned with this, and we now know the steps to achieve it. When we all understand and implement those steps together, it creates a synergy and minimizes the wavering, which then creates the flow… and that’s when good things happen naturally. We’re building this together as a community. I see it, and I feel it. We as leaders need to do an even better job of equipping our people and working together. I always tell my team that we can control three things: our thoughts, our words, and our actions. Throughout the years in this industry, I’ve seen that the people who struggle the most are those who attempt to control the things they are unable to control. Part of equipping them is helping them to see what they are able to control, and then giving them the insight and tools to do that. And, this is what I feel we are doing right now as a company.
Vi: What are some ways you’re communicating that while building your team?
GJ: We do a monthly Google hangout with the people who are seated at the LID table and discuss the primary takeaways. We also do an accountability call 6 days a week (10 – 30 minutes), and we talk about our successes and our failures so that we are able to learn from them. We share the positives, of course, and I have found that it’s very powerful when we also share the negatives, because we’ve all faced difficult times in our business. It’s important to realize our shared experiences. When you feel alone, you give up. So, we always talk together about our challenges and how we are able to apply what we learn to our personal and professional lives. Next month I’m starting a Google hangout where anybody is able to participate, in order to start reproducing leaders as early as possible.
Vi: You’re a great example of what it means to live and promote The Challenge. How has Vi impacted your life?
Industry veteran and Vi 5-Star Ambassador GJ Reynolds with his wife, Alita
It’s impacted me and my family in incredible ways, and I have an amazing Vi Life. The most profound, of course, was meeting Alita through this company. People call us a Vi-Love Couple. I strive to daily live our 3 pillars of Life, Health and Prosperity, and I continually challenge myself and work towards goals. Whenever I share my Vi story with new people, I always start with my ‘Before’ and ‘After’ pictures of my physical transformation. It’s important they know that I live what I promote. I’m currently attempting to break the World Record for the fastest run on a treadmill. I also love sharing transformation stories on the radio network I own: the Simply G Media Network. And even though I’ve been with Vi for so many years and have done so much, I feel like I’m just getting started. For me, I’m ‘all in’ with total commitment and laser focus…and moving forward full speed ahead.

Vi Millionaires Alita and GJ Reynolds Discuss Newly Released Healthy Snack, Vi Bites

ViSalus 5 Star Ambassadors and Vi Millionaires Alita and GJ Reynolds Discuss Newly Released Healthy Snack, Vi Bites On The Simply G Media Network

Vi 5 Star Ambassador GJ Reynolds Discusses the Launch of New Healthy Snacks, Vi Bites on The Simply G Media Network

Snacking isn’t the problem… It’s what we’re snacking on. Nearly 100% of people snack every day. The average person also consumes nearly 600 calories a day in snacks alone. Unhealthy snacking is the #1 noted cause of healthy challenge goal failures.
GJ Reynolds shared, “During a typical year, there are over 356 billion consumptions of snack-oriented convenience foods. Research shows that ‘snacking’ now accounts for just over half of all eating occasions. One in five people eat one snack per day; 41% have two, 24% have three, 13% have four, and 4% have five or more … so, the answer seems to be EVERYONE is snacking at least once a day. Vi Bites are designed to provide a nutritious snack option to help anyone to live the Vi-Life and achieve their health Challenge goal.
Snacking on healthy foods, such as nuts and dried fruit, can help you lose weight, when eaten in moderation and as part of a weight-loss meal plan with increased physical activity. Eating whole, plant-based foods that are nutrient-dense, including nuts and seeds, and avoiding processed foods and sweetened beverages that are high in calories, can also help you fulfill your nutritional needs when on a weight-loss meal plan.
Anyone whose Challenge goal is to lose weight or maintain your weight loss, the new Vi Bites Fruit Frenzy and Glorious Greens flavor options would be great snacks to complete their Challenge meal plan. Fruit Frenzy, an all-natural mix of freeze-dried fruits, will satisfy their sweet tooth at just 50 calories. And, Glorious Greens, a lightly-spiced, freeze-dried veggie mix, will satisfy their savory, crunchy craving at just 70 calories. Both options are freeze-dried to lock in the freshness, lock in nutrition, and go anywhere one chooses to go! There is no cholesterol, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, vegetarian friendly and ackaged for convenience.
A common question GJ Reynolds has been asked, “Which are the best Vi Bites varieties to support my active or fitness Challenge goals?” Reynolds said, “If one’s Challenge goal is to build muscle or support an active or fitness endeavor, the Chocolate Monkey and Fiesta Nut flavor options would be great to complete your Challenge meal plan. Chocolate Monkey, an all-natural mix of banana chips, chocolate chips, nuts and seeds, is sure to satisfy. While Fiesta Nut, a lightly-spiced mix of nuts, seeds and soy nuts is packed with protein and flavor.”
According to Alita Reynolds, “Anybody who likes to snack should eat Vi Bites. They are a great way to eat healthy throughout the day and is great for anyone on the go. I travel extensively and they have proven to be a great snack I am able to pack in my carry on and snack at any time. With Vi Bites, you can ‘snack smart’ and they are convenient, affordable, tastes great, and gets results. Everything you’ve always wanted in a snack–and more”
“Because of all the healthy choices Vi is now providing, Reynolds boldly shared, “Vi will become the #1 Healthy ‘Fast Food’ provider in the world …and Vi will also become the number one transformation company in the world as well.”

GJ Reynolds Discusses A PSA That Blames Parents For Childhood Obesity

Vi 5 Star Ambassador GJ Reynolds Discusses A PSA That Blames Parents For Childhood Obesity, On The Simply G Radio Show, a Division of The Simply G Media Network

Simply G Media Network today announces the release of an interview with Vi 5 Star Ambassador and Entrepreneur GJ Reynolds and Discusses A PSA That Blames Parents For Obesity, on Simply G Radio Show with host Neil Haley, the Total Tutor.

Neil Haley, the Total Tutor host of the Simply G Radio Show, interviewed Vi 5 Star Ambassador, Entrepreneur and Vi Millionaire GJ Reynolds to find out what his take was on the PSA blaming parents for children’s obesity issues.
GJ shared how he has helped his entire family by joining the Project 10 Challenge. “We learned over and over what you put into your body will decide how you perform. We have kids ages 9 to 16 and we have changed their diets. We started implementing the Project 10 Challenge. Before doing this, we saw them cranky, bickering, and tired. Now we see they are alert, healthy, and they are receiving better grades. Clearly by having the right system, platform and health choices, such as the Project 10 Challenge, will have significant results on any family.”
GJ provided his opinion on blaming parents for the obesity epidemic. “I did watch the PSA. “I thought it was done very well and it is a wake up call. Are parents to blame, or society to blame? You cannot blame the child; you can blame either the parents or the school system. More has changed in the last 40 years than the previous 40,000 years in our food.”
GJ described the PSA. “In this video commercial, a 32 year old man is in the hospital having a heart attack, while laying on a surgical table. Then the doctor asks how did this happen? Then there is a rewind of the 32 year old man’s life. It goes all the way back to his childhood and how is lifestyle has been since he was a baby.”
GJ talked about why parents have ignored the warning signs of eating poorly. There is lack of education and it is initially the cheaper way to go. The cheaper way is definitely never the right choice. In the end it becomes much more costly, including life.”
According to Reynolds, “What is the solution? We need to have better education in the schools, and we have solutions like the successful Project 10 Challenge. For those adults who lose 10 pounds or put 10 pounds of muscle, a child in need is fed. I now am on a crusade of educating people all over the globe and being both and example and light of showing what is possible. I am marching to a billion lives to be transformed with the Project 10 Challenge.

Evidence that Adversity May Become a Blessing by Napoleon Hill

Evidence that Adversity May Become a Blessing by Napoleon Hill

It is a known fact that a prolonged illness often forces one to stop, look and listen. Thus we often learn to understand that still, small voice which speaks from within and causes us to take inventory of the factors which have led to defeat and failure in the past.
“A fever,” said Emerson, “a mutilation, a cruel disappointment, a loss of wealth, a loss of friends, seems at the moment unpaid loss, and unpayable. But the sure years reveal the deep remedial force that underlies all facts. The death of a dear friend, spouse, brother, lover, which seemed noting but privation somewhat later assumes the aspect of a guide or genius; for it commonly operates revolutions in our way of life, terminates an epoch of infancy or of youth which was waiting to be closed, breaks up a wonted occupation, or a household, or style of living, and allows the formation of new ones more friendly to the growth of character.
“It permits or constrains the formation of new acquaintances, and the reception of new influences that prove of first importance to the next years; and the man or woman who would have remained a sunny garden flower, with no room for its roots and too much sunshine for its head, by the falling of the walls and the neglect of the gardener is made the banyan of the forest, yielding shade and fruit to wide neighborhoods of man.”
. . . .
Verily, there is no such reality as failure save only that circumstance which is accepted as such. Remember this, you who have been struck down by circumstances which you regard as failures. Remember also that you may be face to face with the turning point of your life from which you may change your course, get on a new road, acquire new courage, new vision and a new will to win.

GJ Reynolds Discusses How To Become a Good Teacher and a Better Student

Entrepreneur & Vi Millioniare GJ Reynolds Discusses How To Become a Good Teacher and a Better Student On The Simply G Radio Show, a Division of The Simply G Media Network

Simply G Media Network today announces the release of an interview with Entreprenuer and Vi Millionaire GJ Reynolds on Simply G Radio Show with host Neil Haley, the Total Tutor.

Neil Haley, the Total Tutor host of the Simply G Radio Show, interviewed Entrepreneur and Vi Millionaire GJ Reynolds, to find out how to become a good teacher and a better student.
Reynolds is an original founding member in the company ViSalus and is now a 5 Star Ambassador, Vi Millionaire, and CEO of Simply G Media. He has written a book titled “The Playful and Powerful Warrior Within You!” and holds the distinction of completing the Dale Brown Challenge by working out for over 1000 days straight. He is also ranked in the top ten percent of people in social media.
The primary topic for the show is how to become a good teacher and a better student. GJ said, “You need to become a life long learner if you choose to elevate yourself. I strive to be a life long learner. I read books, and attend seminars. I am always open to finding new and useable nuggets.”
As Neil Haley shared, “GJ lives by this on a daily basis.”
The first step in accomplishing this, GJ describes on his show, “A good teacher loves learning more than he hates failing. This allows the person to accept risks and be willing to take some risks too. You have to go out and be uncomfortable to grow your self and your business.”
The second step is to know emotion follows motion. GJ said on the show, “I see a lot of people be all emotional and use their motion to do something great. I suggest having an accountability partner to turn your motion into positive actions and results. Choose the first step. We tend to put things off, especially boring or mundane task. When we take the first step, we create momentum and we are much more likely to complete the task. Sometimes we just need to take that first step—as difficult as that might seem at times, the rest falls in line. Go on, take that first step. I also suggest changing your state. When we fail to feel like getting up or doing anything, we will drastically change our physiology. Do something to radically change your physical state. Motion creates emotion.”
The third step GJ described is to realize knowing what to do is doing what they know. “Most people have the solution to do something. Are we going to honor what is best for us? Are you honoring what is best for you, or are you listening to the outside noise? I have found most people know what is right for themselves. The key is realizing to choose the actions they know.”
The fourth step GJ explained on his show is every person one meets has something to teach them. “You are able to definitely learn something from everyone. The best advice is to be open to learning.” As Coach John Wooden once said, It is what you do after you know it all that counts.”
The last step had several components that GJ broke down. “It is to know that learning increases when you have skin in the game. There are several things that go hand and hand. Are you learning and teaching something everyday? To discover the enemy of learning is knowing. Live to learn. When you choose to earn more, learn more and apply more. Then you will have more. The minute you stop learning, you become less effective.”

How To Profit From Defeat by Napoleon Hill

How To Profit From Defeat by Napoleon Hill

Every plan and every purpose in life carries with it the possibility of defeat somewhere along the line.
The important thing is to learn that defeat does not mean failure, unless you accept it as such. This means we are never defeated by other persons or by circumstances. We defeat ourselves, unless we learn to rise above adversity.
Many people who have reached high success express gratitude for the defeats they met on the way up. These defeats provide a “testing time” which helped them gain self-confidence. They learned that they possessed a power that was limitless and which could overcome any of the causes of defeat.
The turning point in the lives of very successful people often comes after some unpleasant experience which turns them into new paths of opportunity.
Whey Benjamin Franklin was a young man he went to Philadelphia looking for a job. As he walked down the street munching a loaf of bread, a pretty young woman was so amused at his appearance that she pointed her finger at him and laughed heartily.
Her bad manners paid off handsomely for Franklin, for he stopped and introduced himself to her so politely that she became ashamed of her conduct and apologized. She later became Franklin’s wife and his major source of inspiration while he was struggling to gain a place for himself.
Asked why he married a woman who treated him so rudely, Franklin replied that he had made up his mind to “tame” her and see if he could influence her to direct her charming personality to something better than making fun of strangers.
Benjamin Franklin became great because, in addition to his many other fine traits and sound judgment, he learned how to look for that seed of an equivalent benefit that comes with every unpleasant circumstance.
During the depression, Eddie Cantor lost all of his fortune. When a friend asked him what he was going to do about it, Cantor replied, “I am going to profit by the experience – and get busy making more money the way I made that which I lost.”
The main thing is to recognize that every adversity and every defeat carries with it the seed of an equivalent or even a greater benefit.
Perhaps more important still, you will discover, as every successful person must, that every experience that comes your way, whether it be pleasant or unpleasant, can be of service to you in carrying out your mission in life. When you make this discovery you will never again accept temporary defeat or failure as anything more than a challenge by which you can test the confidence you have in yourself, the Faith you have in your Creator.

Entrepreneur GJ Reynolds Shares Story On Keeping It Real With Charmaine Show

Entrepreneur GJ Reynolds Shares Story On Keeping It Real With Charmaine Show

Simply G Media Network CEO and Entrepreneur GJ Reynolds Shares His Story On The Keeping It Real With Charmaine Langford Show on BlogTalk Radio.

Charmaine Langford interviewed entrepreneur and Simply G Media Network CEO GJ Reynolds to find out about his life, career and business, on Keeping It Real With Charmaine Show.
GJ talked about his childhood on Charmaines show. I was born in Manhattan Kansas. I lived most of my childhood in Baton Rouge LA. There, I meet the legendary Coach Dale Brown. I met him when he first got the job at LSU. I have been able to maintain relationship ever since. He mentors me, coaches me and is one of my dearest friends. I am fortunate to have such a blessed relationship with Coach.
GJ continued to discuss his life on her show. My folks moved back to Kansas when I was a teenager. After high school and junior college I entered the US Army for 5 years. Upon completing my service I worked for four telecom companies. The four companies kept being bought out and/or merged together. Every time I turned around, someone was being layed off. I knew one day this would be me. All of my time was essentially with one company and I was there for 5 years. The small company I started with became what is now known as Verizon. Since leaving Verizon, I have been an entrepreneur for the past 24 years.
GJ provided tips for Charmaines listeners if they wanted to start a business. There are so many opportunities to become an entrepreneur. Most entrepreneurs initially see a problem or challenge and they find a solution. The solution many times leads to the business. I became an entrepreneur by choosing to have more control over my career and having the ability to ‘be all I could be’, just like the old US Army slogan. You have to be clear about willing to do the work. It will require a lot of the work and time. It all rests on you. If you are unable to do everything, you need to surround yourself right people. If you got the right people to coach and mentor you can be a success.
GJ talked about the book he wrote. I wrote a book The Playful and Powerful Warrior Within You!, which is really about becoming right within. I have had some ups as entrepreneur. In 2001, I was in depression and I became suicidal. I fell down. God grabbed a hold of me and built me back up. Since then, I have never stopped giving up on my personal mission and goals.
GJ described the reasons he became depressed and suicidal. Well I think for anyone and I have had hundreds of dialogues with both current and former depressed and suicidal individuals. I think typically there is a progression. It took a period of time for me. I have always been the type that places all my energy into my career and company. One person became greedy, and he took on the regulators. Obviously they startled the company and it finally went out of business. Afterwards, I failed to get anything going. At the time, I was 40 years old. How did I get there? I started thinking more about what I had not done then what I had accomplished. I focused on the negative and became ‘victim conscious’. I also struggled to lower my overhead. I was flat broke. I was sitting on the floor one day and thought, today is the day they will shut off my electricity? I was in such a negative state. On that day I said “I am done.” Thank goodness I had kids and God finally got a hold of me. I now live a very blessed life.
GJ talked about his personal transformation. I lost 40 pounds. I was over 200 pounds and one percentage point away from being considered obese. I was broken mentally, physically, and I put on weight from eating for comfort. I used food as my comfort support system. I definitely was challenged.
GJ talked about how people challenged him to get in shape. My wife Alita and Coach Dale Brown challenged me a second time to the Dale Brown Challenge. I was at a point of being sick and tired of being sick and tired. Coach and I agreed to workout for an hour a day and complete two miles a day. I did it for year. Then I completed a total of 610 days straight. Then I kept completing two miles per day and going 1026 days straight. Which ended a few weeks ago. I am now on my Vi Project 10 Challenge and having fantastic success. The ViSalus products have allowed me to stay the course, be healthy and achieve my Project 10 Challenge goals. I am now able to run in excess of 20mph. I am pretty excited about this, and I am in my early fifties!”

GJ Reynolds Discusses Globesity: Fat’s New Frontier

    • ViSalus Sciences Logo

Vi 5 Star Ambassador and Vi Millioniare GJ Reynolds Discusses Globesity: Fat’s New Frontier on The Simply G Radio Show, a Division of The Simply G Media Network

Neil Haley, the Total Tutor host of the Simply G Radio Show, interviewed Vi 5 Star Ambassador and Vi Millionaire GJ Reynolds on Globesity: Fat’s New Frontier.
Obesity is no longer just a rich country’s problem. It is now taken hold in poor and emerging countries and is rapidly developing into an insurmountable health crisis. Type 2 diabetes, heart disease and some cancers are on the march in nations ill equipped to treat sufferers or educate others about the dangers of getting too fat. It’s predicted that by 2030 one billion people will be obese, so how will the world cope with its ever expanding waistline?
“We still have a very serious problem,” said obesity specialist Dr. William Dietz of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Duke University health economist Eric Finkelstein, who led the new CDC-funded forecast study, used the information along with other factors that influence obesity rates including food prices, prevalence of fast-food restaurants, unemployment to come up with what he called “very reasonable estimates” for the next two decades.
Finkelstein said, “Part of the reason for the continuing rise is that the population is growing and aging. People ages 45 to 64 are most likely to be obese.”
“If nothing is done, this is going to really hinder efforts to control health care costs,” added study co-author Justin Trogdon of RTI International.
Worse, the already obese are getting fatter. Severe obesity will double by 2030, when 11 percent of adults will be nearly 100 pounds overweight, or more, concluded the research led by Duke University.
As GJ Reynolds pointed out, The Project 10 Challenge is a great solution! The Vi Project 10 Challenge is the leading platform for weight-loss and fitness results, making it fun and easy to set and achieve a 90-day goal. The Challenge is simple. Its fun. And it WORKS! It is a great solution to winning the great obesity epidemic.”
Reynolds shared how the Project 10 Challenge works, “It is so simple and easy to do. Set a goal once you have set your weight-loss, active, or fitness goal. Go public by shooting your “I Want It” video and posting it on challenge.com. Step 2, select a challenge kit based upon your individual goal. Vi offers Challenge Kits with great-tasting products that help anyone to have the results they desire. Instead of adapting your lifestyle to fit a program, the Project 10 Challenge was adapted to fit anyone’s lifestyle. Step 3, enter to WIN. Lose 10 lbs. on PROJECT 10 Challenge, rock a free t-shirt, and earn 10 chances to win $1,000!”
While being overweight increases anyone’s risk of diabetes, heart disease and a host of other ailments, the severely obese are most at risk and the most expensive to treat. Already, conservative estimates suggest obesity-related problems account for at least 9 percent of the nation’s yearly health spending.

ViMillioniare GJ Reynolds Discusses How to Build ‘Together Trust’

ViMillioniare GJ Reynolds Discusses How to Build ‘Together Trust’

Vi 5 Star Ambassador and Millioniare GJ Reynolds Discusses How to Build ‘Together Trust’ on The Simply G Radio Show, a Division of The Simply G Media Network

Simply G Media Network announces the release of an interview with Vi 5 Star Ambassador and Millioniaree GJ Reynolds on Simply G Radio Show with host Neil Haley, the Total Tutor.

Neil Haley, the Total Tutor host of the Simply G Radio Show, interviewed Vi 5 Star Ambassador and Millioniare GJ Reynolds, to find out how to build ‘together trust’.
Reynolds is an original founding member in the company ViSalus and is now a 5 Star Ambassador, Vi Millionaire, and CEO of Simply G Media. He has written the book titled “The Playful and Powerful Warrior Within You!” and holds the distinction of completing the Dale Brown Challenge by working out for over 1000 days straight and being on the Project 10 Challenge too. He is also ranked in the top ten percent of people in social media.
GJ Reynolds explained there are five essential steps to building trust with others. GJ described the first step, “You have to be competent in what you are doing. I find and hire someone else in areas where I am unable to be great or in being the most competent. When there is competency, trust will begin to grow.”
GJ talked about the second step to build trust: “As we have shared many times on our Simply G radio shows, consistency is key. Consistency is required for success in building a business, going to school, working successfully with someone else, or in having any successful relationship. When one fails to be consistent, there will eventually be struggles. The other key factor in building ‘together trust’, is being accountable. When your teammates say ‘I can always count on you.’ This is a great way to build trust in any relationship. Be competent and do what you say you are going to do. Essentially walk the walk.”
Step three in building trust: it is suggested to place others at the top of your agenda. GJ said, “Their win must bigger than my win to build the strongest trusting relationship. If my win is bigger than their win, it will lead to a shorter relationship with less trust and solidarity.”
Reynolds also talked about step four in the five-step process to building trust. GJ described this by saying. “When you give credit to others, it builds good chemistry amongst the team. Coach John Wooden was very good at giving credit to other people. I met Coach Wooden several times and he was excellent in placing the light on someone else. He was also a good friend and mentor with my coach, mentor and friend, Coach Dale Brown. Dale lives by this action as well and he is always shinning the light away from himself and onto others.”
The last step GJ talked about is focusing on doing the right things when things go wrong. “Things will go wrong and things are always going to change. You have to be willing to adapt. I also suggest being clear about your mission and vision. It makes it a lot easier to achieve your goals, objectives and to move with the ups and downs. Especially when things go wrong and are a challenge. In the US Army I learned mission first. To be clear about what is the mission and be clear about how to achieve the mission. I have had to make some tough decisions and be adaptable in my twenty plus years as an entrepreneur. Change and being adaptable are essential. Being clear with your team and making sure all parties understand is also essential.”

Rohn: A Good Life Contains These 6 Essentials: Part #1

The values that make up the foundation of a life well lived—and, no surprise, money isn’t one of them

The ultimate expression of life is not a paycheck. The ultimate expression of life is not a Mercedes. The ultimate expression of life is not a million dollars or a bank account or a home. The ultimate expression of life is living a good life.
Here’s what we must ask constantly, “What, for me, would be a good life?” And you have to keep going over and over the list—a list including areas such as spirituality, economics, health, relationships and recreation.
So, what would constitute a good life? Jim Rohn has a short list:
    1. Productivity. You won’t be happy if you don’t produce. The game of life is not rest. Yes, we must rest, but only long enough to gather strength to get back to productivity.
What’s the reason for the seasons and the seeds, the soil and the sunshine, the rain and the miracle of life? It’s to see what you can do with it—to try your hand to see what you can do.
    2. Good friends. Friendship is probably the greatest support system in the world, so don’t deny yourself the time to develop it. Nothing can match it. It’s extraordinary in its benefit.
Friends are those wonderful people who know all about you and still like you. I lost one of my dearest friends when he was 53—heart attack. As one of my very special friends, I used to say that if I was stuck in a foreign jail somewhere accused unduly, and, if they would allow me one phone call, I would call David. Why? He would come and get me. That’s a real friend—somebody who would come and get you.
And we’ve all got casual friends, friends who, if you called them, they would say, “Hey, if you get back, call me and we’ll have a party.”
You’ve got to have both real friends and casual friends.
    3. Your culture. Language, music, ceremonies, traditions, dress. All of that is so vitally important that you must keep it alive. The uniqueness of all of us, when blended together, brings vitality, energy, power, influence, uniqueness of all of us, when blended together, brings vitality, energy, power, influence, uniqueness and rightness to the world.

For more than 40 years, Jim Rohn honed his craft like a skilled artist-helping people the world over sculpt life strategies that have expanded their imagination of what is possible. Those who had the privilege of hearing him speak can attest to the elegance and common sense of his material. It is no coincidence, then, that he is widely regarded as one of the most influential thinkers of our time, and thought of by many as a national treasure. Jim authored countless books and audio and video programs, and helped motivate and shape an entire generation of personal-development trainers and hundreds of executives from America’s top corporations.
Born to an Idaho farming family in the mid-1900s, Jim was ingrained with a work ethic that has served him well throughout his life. At 25, he met his mentor Earl Shoaff. And over the next six years he made his first fortune, yet didn’t get into speaking until he moved to Beverly Hills, California, when a friend at the Rotary Club asked him to tell his success story, which Rohn titled “Idaho Farm Boy Makes It to Beverly Hills.”
His speech went over so well that he received more invitations to share it, and better yet, they started paying him for it. In the beginning, he spoke in front of college and high-school classes and at service clubs, before moving on to seminars in 1963, which launched him into the personal-development business. From then on, Jim Rohn became a trailblazer in the self help and personal development industry, impacting the lives of millions through his life-changing material.

Range Limitless of Purpose by Napoleon Hill

The range of purposes on which man can successfully direct his mind, through concentration, is limitless. Every living creature below man concentrates its efforts on but two ends, reproduction and food.

Other physical manifestations of the law of concentration are seen in the sun that sets and rises with uninterrupted regularity—water that flows downhill in response to the law of gravitation—the seasons of the year which inevitably come—and every living thing, including man, reproducing itself after its kind.
Here is evidence that the law of concentration is not man-made, because none of man’s efforts has ever interrupted any of these manifestations of the Creator’s purpose.
Determine what you want most from life. Adopt that as your definite major purpose. Make the start toward your goal right where you stand. When you come to those uphill pulls where the going is hard, back it with all the enthusiasm at your command, and lo! You will find yourself in the right path.
You will be on the “success beam” that will carry you unerringly to the object of your aims and purposes. Try it! It works.

    Work With Your Team
 Golden Rule Key to Cooperation

    Work With Your Team
 Golden Rule Key to Cooperation
by Napoleon Hill

There are two kinds of cooperation. One is based on the motive of fear or need. The other is based upon voluntary willingness. Cooperation is indispensable in your home, in your job, in your social life. It is an absolute necessity in our form of government and system of free enterprise.
Teamwork can be acquired only by establishing the proper motive to induce friendly coordination of effort.
Andrew Carnegie’s method of inspiring teamwork has never been improved upon.
First, he established a monetary motive through promotions and bonuses to suit each individual’s job, designed so that a part of the individual’s income depended on the sort of service he rendered.
Second, he never reprimanded any employee openly. But he caused the employee tor reprimand himself, by asking carefully directed questions.
Third, he never made decisions for his executives. He encouraged them to make their own and to be responsible for the results.
    Upper Level Success
Success on the upper levels of achievement is attained only by teamwork. This means giving cooperation as well as receiving it. Selfish leaders will get little cooperation from their subordinates because cooperation is something like love in that one must give it in order to get it.

Let Others Help You Achieve Success by Napoleon Hill

Success will come more quickly and surely if you learn how to make use of the education, experience, ability and influence of others.
Captain Eddie Rickenbacker thinks his greatest personal asset is his “ability to get other people to lend me the use of their brains in a friendly spirit of cooperation.”
“If I exchange the dollar I have for the dollar you have, we both end up no better off than when we started. But, if I exchange an idea for the idea you have, then we both end up twice as rich as we were. And teamwork is the means of multiplying our spiritual wealth to infinity,” says Capt. Rickenbacker.
Remember that two or more persons, working closely in an alliance by which they complement and supplement each other’s abilities, can always achieve far more than one.
Thomas A. Edison’s greatness as an inventor resulted from his genius for organizing teams of individuals, each with far more knowledge in their specialties than he possessed, for a common goal.
The greatest achievements of our free enterprise system come from group—rather than individual—enterprise. But the group will always require a leader. In seeking the help of others, you must be prepared to make an even trade. You can’t come empty-handed.
Lloyd Weeks of Salem, Ill., is a mechanical engineer who conceived a unique idea for constructing oil tanks. But the idea would take money to put into development. Dr. Everett O. Hancock, a neighbor, didn’t have Weeks’ engineering know-how—but he had some money, saved from his practice as a dentist.
Each contributed his resources into a business alliance that is netting them $5,000 profit each month.
It is absolutely essential that all members of an alliance share in its benefits. Otherwise the team will soon fall apart.
One evening Henry Ford was walking through his plant and stopped to talk with a floor sweeper.
    “Like your job?” Ford asked.
“Yep,” the janitor said, “But I’d like it better if you sold these metal filings, instead of throwing them away, and gave me part of the money.”
Ford put the idea into operation the next day. It saved the Ford Company a worthwhile sum and gave a promotion to the janitor.
    J. Edgar Hoover’s success as the greatest crime-fighter in history relies entirely upon his ability to fuse the abilities and knowledge of hundreds into a hard-hitting closely coordinated team.
What do you need to achieve success? Who has it? What can you offer in return? Maybe it’s exactly what someone else is seeking.
If so, you can pool your resources and make the fight for success much easier.
