Simply G Media Network today announces the release of an interview with Adam Contos on The Simply G Radio Show hosted by Neil Haley, the Total Tutor.

Neil Haley, The Total Tutor host of the SimplyG Radio show, interviewed Adam Contos to find out the difference between sales and marketing and the importance of each.
Adam spent his “first” career of 11 years in law enforcement, leaving after growing to the position of SWAT Commander, where he coordinated and motivated a top team of professionals. Adam’s entrepreneurial spirit took him in to the private sector via a security consulting company that he founded, working on business, personal, and facility security and safety measures. He also developed a personal safety program titled S.A.F.E.R. for real estate agents and outside sales professionals. Adam’s presentations took him to over 30 cities in North America, speaking to tens of thousands of professionals about integrating safety in to their businesses. “It’s an amazing thing when someone comes up to you and tells you that your program may have saved their life,” Adam proudly shared. He is in it to help people.
In 2004, he became a full time business consultant and progressed to the position of Vice President at RE/MAX, working on business development, franchise sales, and helping franchisees grow their businesses.
In our discussions, Contos elaborates on the importance of sharing not selling. He says that you can no longer sell straight to people and, instead, you have to build trust and make connections first. He also stresses the balance of both marketing and sales, and you have to get in front of the customer by addressing their needs and pains instead of giving them features and benefits.
According to Contos, you have three sources of business— repeat business, referral business, and brand new business. A business has to work on a balance and constant focus on all three creates successful growth.
“GJ Reynolds, CEO of the SimplyG Network, has taught me a lot about helping people,” said Contos, who also mentioned how helping people is key to lead generation, which is very important to sales. “You are finding leads because you want to help people. The more you network the more business you find. You should try to meet 10 to 15 people a day and make a positive impression on them all.”
Contos continued: “I find something people like to talk about and then have conversations with them on Twitter or Facebook. I find that as soon as you make an impact on an influencer, you grow your network.”
In the interview, Contos expressed his gratitude toward Reynolds. “GJ is a very powerful person. I talk to him weekly. We share life experiences. He holds me accountable for the goals I am trying to attain. He is an inspiration.”
CEO of SimplyG Media GJ Reynolds said, “Adam is a man of character and he is a great student. Great leaders are great students and Adam is both. He understands the importance of sale and marketing is excellent in teaching others how to excel in both.” Reynolds also shared, “We do a weekly accountability call and because of this call we both have elevated our own personal businesses and achieved various goals. Iron sharpens iron and Adam has been a blessing in assisting me to sharpen my iron. We both suggest having a weekly accountability call to raise the bar for one another. It has proven to work very well for the both of us.”
