Beachlifestyle Media Group today announced the release of a recent interview on December 18th with former Pittsburgh Pirate All-Star Al Oliver and Film Maker Richard Rossi discussing their memories of Hall of Fame Legend Roberto Clemente, on The Total Education Celebrity Show with Total Tutor host Neil Haley.
Neil Haley, The Total Tutor host of the Total Education Celebrity show interviewed Richard Rossi, and Al Oliver to find out interesting stories of Al playing with Clemente and Richard watching Clemente.
Albert Oliver, Jr is a former Major League Baseball player who spent his 18-year career playing for five different teams, including the Pittsburgh Pirates, Texas Rangers, Montreal Expos, San Francisco Giants, and Philadelphia Phillies. He was a 7-time MLB All-Star, World Series champion and National League batting champion.
Richard Rossi is the producer, writer, and director of the independent film Baseball’s Last Hero: 21 Clemente Stories. The movie takes a look at Roberto Clemente’s life and his faith.
“I enjoyed hearing all the great stories about Clemente.” Haley said. “Clemente was my favorite baseball player because my mom was a big fan. I researched Clemente and read a lot about this great baseball player.”
Haley asked Oliver about the first time he met Roberto Clemente. “Clemente was very intimidating to talk to,” Oliver said. “He walked with this confidence.”
Al Oliver discussed his first conversation with the Pirate legend and how they became friends. “That Clemente was very engaging. We had a lot in common,” said Oliver. “We would talk about life.”
Rossi asked Oliver about what Clemente didn’t like in baseball. Oliver said the things that bothered Clemente most were “Baseball players who did not hustle” and “who did not give back to the community.”
In the interview, Rossi also shared stories about the Pirates 1960 World Series celebration as well as what Clemente did after the game. Oliver explained he was so glad that Rossi made a movie about Clemente to celebrate his life and legacy. He hopes many people can see this movie.
GJ Reynolds, the owner of Beachlifestyle Media group, said “I am huge fan of Al, Roberto, and the Pirates. I wanted our fans get the chance her about a Clemente from a former player who played with him.”
