Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 28, 2014
Host Neil Haley, The Total Tutor, interviewed Bill Cartwright to find out about life after basketball and his latest business ventures.
A key contributor to five NBA World Championships as a player or an assistant coach, Cartwright played in the NBA for 16 years. He played center, one of the most difficult and physically demanding positions on the floor. In 2001, more than six years after he retired from playing with the Bulls has placed his 20 years of NBA experience to work by naming Cartwright the 14th head coach in team history.
Cartwright shared on the Total Education Celebrity Show that he has taken the year off from coaching to travel. Last year, he visited Japan and considered it a great experience. Cartwright, who traveled all over North American during his playing days, never had been on that side of the world. According to the former NBA center, it was a great learning experience for him.
Outside of the NBA, Cartwright is co-owner of CartwrightDownes, a company that does background investigations for companies. “We try to bring excellent service with excellent turnaround time, said Cartwriter. My wife has owned the company for 6 years with my partner Sandy Downes.
Cartwright recently went back to school and received a masters degree in organizational development. Cartwright said his education plays a factor in the vision for his company, which includes what his goals are and how he is going to get there.
The biggest challenge of being an entrepreneur is that you can be busy as you want, Cartwright said. You can be as big or as small as you want. The harder you work the more successful you can be. You are going through so many ups and downs when you are entrepreneur. You will get some ‘nos’ some ‘yeses.’ You have to stay persistent while balancing your finances and making sure you do not run out of money.”
Cartwright also continues to run some basketball clinics in his spare time. He said he likes to stay real busy as this helps keeps his mind working.
“I really like the work ethic Bill Has,” ViSalus ViMillionaire and 5 Star Ambassador GJ Reynolds said. He works very hard off the court as he did on the court. Bill sees that to be successful you have to work hard and have fun doing it.
