How to Improve Your Personal/Company Brand

How to Improve Your Personal/Company Brand

Entrepreneur and Vi Millioniare GJ Reynolds Discusses How to Improve Your Brand on the Simply G Radio Show, a Division of the Simply G Media Network

Neil Haley, the Total Tutor host of the Simply G Radio Show, interviewed Vi Millionaire GJ Reynolds to find out about what is branding, how am I a brand, and how do I create the best brand.

Reynolds is an original founding member of the company ViSalus and is now a 5 Star Ambassador, Vi Millionaire, and CEO of Simply G Media. He has written a book titled “The Playful and Powerful Warrior Within You!” and holds the distinction of completing the Dale Brown and Project 10 Challenges by completing 2 or more miles per day for over 1000 days straight (and counting). He is also ranked in the top ten in social media in the world.
GJ Reynolds explained why everyone is now a brand, on the show. Everyone is now a brand. What has happened now, anyone is able to place themselves on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, etc. This immediately turns them into a public figure and in many cases a brand. I am a brand. The day I realized I am a brand is the day I shifted to align who I am and what I represent both personally and in my business. I turned this into one thought, one path and one brand. My company and myself are pretty much one of the same when it comes down to the core values. Yes, I am a brand.
GJ provided some first steps in brand development. Here is what I learned, When you know where they are going in your business, you are more likely to arrive there. First, you have to have a mission. What is the mission? What are the steps based on the goals and resources you have? Does your brand represent your mission or does your mission represent your brand? You need to both be congruent with one another.
GJ discussed being clear about the brand’s mission. He explained the importance of determining what the steps are in achieving the brand’s mission. GJ shared, Here is where I am, here is what I have to do, here is what I have to do to accomplish the mission. I learned from Darren Hardy, Publisher of Success Magazine, you have to have clear vital functions to move towards your one big goal and mission. This is a key aspect of how to develop a successful business and successful brand.
GJ described a brand develops over time. “It requires both persistence and consistency. I have found it imperative to live and honor your personal brand to attract the right people and to keep it simple.”

Neil Haley, The Total Tutor host of the Simply G Radio show, interviewed Melissa McGarvey to find out about her business and why she promotes the challenge.
Melissa explained how she learned about ViSalus (Vi). I learned about Vi in April 2011. I was invited to a Challenge party. My intention was not to join. However, I listened to the overall message of ViSalus and I decided to become a customer and a promoter. I knew I had found something special, the Project 10 Challenge.”
Melissa shared the difficulties she had with weight loss. I have always struggled with my weight. I would be up 25 pounds and 25 pounds down. When I got older it became a fifty-pound shift. Once I started taking the products it tasted good and it was simple. I liked the way I felt.”
Melissa saw tremendous results in her first 90 days. She started on the Transformation Kit. Melissa said, “I was down 16 pounds in three weeks. My energy was good. Then, I decided to workout and enjoy it. I lost 60 pounds.”
Melissa discussed the financial benefits of the Project 10 Challenge. “I owned a day spa. I was not looking for my own business. I felt I should receive a referral check if I promoted the Project 10 Challenge to my clients. I have been so enthused by the results my clients are getting. We are changing lives ten pounds at a time with the Project 10 Challenge. We help families get off food stamps. We have helped people get BMW’s. Becoming an Ambassador in ViSalus has changed my life. I was able to sell my traditional business, and actually get my time back.”
Melissa explained how great it is to work with 5 Star Ambassador GJ Reynolds. “I have been a business owner for many years. I have crossed a lot of paths of leaders and mentors. Of all the people I meet in a decade, GJ tops my list. GJ is a man of absolute integrity. He does not take it likely. He is a disciplined leader, great leader and the heart of a great friend. Being able to work with GJ is an absolute blessing for my business.”
GJ Reynolds shared this, “Melissa is a great student. She is hungry to learn and then with her new found knowledge, go and apply it. Both Melissa and her husband Jason are solid people who walk the walk. They are the type of people I love working with. They have high integrity and they have a true care to help raise people up. This is why they are having so much success. Success leaves clues and they are successful leaders for doing so.”

This Is How You Leave a Legacy-Part #1/2

This Is How You Leave a Legacy by: Jim Rohn

Jim Rohn shares nine principles necessary for a successful life and a lasting legacy.

Jim Rohn, the philosopher who has left an indelible legacy of time-proven principles and wisdom, shares his secret for making an impact.
“You know me, I am a philosopher. I love principles. Yes, actions are great and I talk about them regularly, but the important stuff is what lies underneath—the principles,” Rohn says.
Here are the principles he says we must commit to in order to leave the legacy we desire:
1. Life is best lived in service to others. This doesn’t mean that we do not strive for the best for ourselves. It does mean that in all things we serve other people, including our family, co-workers and friends.
2. Consider others’ interests as important as your own. Much of the world suffers simply because people consider only their own interests. People are looking out for number one, but the way to leave a legacy is to also look out for others.
3. Love your neighbor even if you don’t like him. It is interesting that Jesus told us to love others. But he never tells us to like them. Liking people has to do with emotions. Loving people has to do with actions. And what you will find is that when you love them and do good by them, you will more often than not begin to like them.
4. Maintain integrity at all costs. There are very few things you take to the grave with you. The number one thing is your reputation and good name. When people remember you, you want them to think, “She was the most honest person I knew. What integrity.” There are always going to be temptations to cut corners and break your integrity. Do not do it. Do what is right all of the time, no matter what the cost.
5. You must risk in order to gain. In just about every area of life you must risk in order to gain the reward. In love, you must risk rejection in order to ask that person out for the first time. In investing you must place your capital at risk in the market in order to receive the prize of a growing bank account. When we risk, we gain. And when we gain, we have more to leave for others.

Everything you choose to have with people, you have to model your self. I am personally mentoring 25 people this year, picked through a specific selection process, and to assist them in raising their LID and going to the next level. I am excited about this. Lead With Responsibility

Lead With Responsibility

I see many so called leaders say they care about their people, then decide to choose to do what is best for themselves and are being selfish.   They ALWAYS have a reason or more than likely an excuse.  Then attempt to convince their peeps they are being honorable, when in fact they quit on them.  I have seen many times so called leaders chasing the money.  Once a person is bought, they are bought.  True leaders never chase the money.  They go out and earn it and teach others to do the same.  They face the challenges and find a way through it.
If a leader says they lost their passion, this is a joke to me.  Passion is an intense feeling and emotion compelling enthusiasm or desire for something.  When you LEAD and help people, what more passion is able to be delivered?  What should be said, they (the so called leader) lost their will to lead.  They lost their compass and most likely have zero mission statement to guide them.
Leading is sometimes a lonely place.  When someone you lead rises up, the loneliness fades and the passion is delivered.  As a Leader, it requires tremendous discipline to control the influence & impact you have with other people’s lives. Be humble, be responsible and GO LEAD.

Accurate Thinking-by Napoleon Hill

When I hear someone expressing a definite opinion about something which I have reason to believe he knows little or nothing, I think of an experience I had when I stopped a Quaker on the streets of Philadelphia and asked him the time of day. He took out his watch, examined it carefully, and then in a slow, emphatic tone of voice he said “Well Sir, According to this alleged time piece it appears to be approximately one minute and ten seconds past twelve o’clock.”

I was particularly impressed by the care with which this Quaker identified the source of his information which he was passing on to me, and I often thought afterward how beneficial it would be if all people who express opinions or give out information would take the time to identify the source from which they were able to speak.
I cannot influence all people to engage in this sort of safe thinking but I can suggest that you give it careful consideration in connection with this visit on the subject of Accurate Thinking.
Now I shall give you a simple rule which may help you avoid being misled by unsound opinions expressed by other people. When you hear someone make a statement which your reason cannot accept as being sound, or which you question or should for safety-sake question for any reason whatsoever, ask a simple four word question: “HOW DO YOU KNOW?” Then stand firm on that question and either force the speaker to identify the source from which he got the information he is endeavoring to pass on as FACTS, or reject the statement entirely, as if it had not been made. And do this, no matter who is speaking or what may be his reputations for truth and veracity.
Remember, you were given, as your richest birthright, the privilege of controlling your own thoughts. Therefore, treat this Divine Gift with the profound respect to which it is entitled and Do not allow anyone to do your thinking for you or to influence your thinking in any manner whatsoever except by the rules of Accurate Thinking I am passing on to you.
Follow this procedure regardless of what people think or say about your method of thinking. If they wish to call you a cynic or a Doubting Thomas let that be their misfortune, but for your own good, go right on thinking by rules which will save you from many mistakes and tragedies throughout your life.

ViSalus 5 Star Ambassador GJ Reynolds has Worked out 1000 Straight Days

ViSalus 5 Star Ambassador and CEO of Simply G Media GJ Reynolds Discusses How He Has Completed 2 Miles Per Day for 1000 Days Straight, On The Simply G Radio Show

Simply G Media Network today announces the release of an interview with Vimillionaire GJ Reynolds on Simply G Radio Show with host Neil Haley, the Total Tutor.

Neil Haley, the Total Tutor host of the Simply G Radio Show, interviewed Entrepreneur and Vi Millionaire GJ Reynolds to find out the news of how he has completed 2 miles per day for 1000 days straight. In the interview he also shared how he has been able to keep the streak going and what his motivation is to keep the streak going.
Reynolds is an original founding member in the company ViSalus and is now a 5 Star Ambassador, Vi Millionaire, and CEO of Simply G Media. He has written a book titled "The Playful and Powerful Warrior Within You!" and holds the distinction of completing the Dale Brown Challenge, by working out and completing 2 miles per day or more for 610 days straight. Since then Reynolds has gone to complete 2 or more miles for 1000 straight days (and counting).
In the interview, Reynolds discussed how he has been able to keep such an impressive streak alive. "I have completed two miles straight everyday for a 1000 days despite facing many challenges," said Reynolds. "The way I am able to do it is by focusing on one day at a time and for 90 day intervals. I have found anyone is able to do this if they simply commit to the process. I tell people all the time to choose the first step and commit to at least 20 minutes per day. It is actually amazing what is able to be accomplished in such a short time. The hard part is choosing to do so."
GJ shared, "In the beginning, prior to starting the challenge I had EVERY excuse to not work out. I am able to write a book about excuses. I had them all. It took Coach Dale Brown and my wife showing me the mirror and seeing how bad of shape I was in. My good friend from Stand Up America shared with me, "G Satan was attempting to take you out." He was right I was on may way to eventually having poor health.
"I have been very creative at times to complete the daily task. I have had surgical procedures and could barely walk. I travel around the world, and cold days with 2 feet of snow. You name the challenges most people face, I went through it. I knew had to do it every single day and elevate my very own life and to inspire someone to start to transform their life.”
Reynolds explained some ways of how he has been able to do it, including a story about when he was at the Chicago airport lugging around a back pack and pulling a suitcase. Reynolds also said many of his training days are rigorous and difficult to complete, and he does it in order to continue on his streak. Reynolds has a personal trainer and now trains as a world-class athlete trains.
"I challenge anyone listening to do my intense workouts," said Reynolds. "Some 18-year-olds are unable to do it. Regardless, I challenge everyone simply chooses to get off the couch and start doing something better for them selves. I suggest walking around the block to start. Pretty simple to start to do."

Multiple Skills for the 21st Century by Jim Rohn

I find it’s important to not walk into the beginning part of this 21st Century without multiple skills.
But what I also find is that if you are already in sales, network marketing or have an entrepreneurial business (or plan to in the future), you can gain the needed skills for the future while you create your income now.
Here’s my short list for on the job training, so that you can learn while you earn.
1) SALES
I began my journey with sales, which of course dynamically changed my life back at age 25. The first year I multiplied my income by five. I was raised in farm country. I knew how to milk cows, but it didn’t pay well. But sales altered the course of my life, learning to present a valid product in the marketplace, talk about its virtues and get somebody to say “yes.” And then give them good service.
2) RECRUITING
Then came recruiting, how to expand my business, build an organization. We have all heard the question, is it better to have one person selling a $1000 or have 100 people selling $10? If you ask me, I’ll take the 100 at $10. Recruiting, the ability to multiply your efforts, once mastered, is one of life and leadership’s greatest time management resources.
3) ORGANIZING
Then I learned organizing. Keeping your own schedule can be difficult at times, but now you have to balance multiple tasks and people to get maximum results. But you will find that the payoff is massive once you have tapped into the synergy and momentum of group dynamics and teamwork.
4) PROMOTION
Next is promotion. First it’s the spring campaign and then the fall campaign, and then it’s this month’s objective’s campaign. You never know when it’s going to click for someone to want or need to buy from you or be a part of what you are doing, so having the offer or the special or the contest going when they’re ready can make all the difference.
5) RECOGNITION
Then it’s the recognition. Some people work harder for recognition than they do for money. It’s the chance to belong. Getting people to do something that ordinarily on their own, they wouldn’t think of doing. They could, but they don’t think of it. You come along with a little promotion for this month or this quarter and everything changes for them, and I found that paid big money.
6) COMMUNICATION
Then I learned communication. How to do the training, how to do the teaching, and probably the greatest gift of all is learning how to inspire with words. Inspire people to see themselves better than they are; all of those gifts, all of those skills. Being the voice that tells them they have made a wise decision and here’s why.
Now, I believe that as you walk into this century with just that little short list I’ve given you, you’ll be equipped. We’ve all watched what has happened the last 15 years. The guy had one skill – the company downsizes. His division is eliminated and since he only had one skill, now he is vulnerable. He’s wandering around saying, “Oh my, the last few years I should have taken some classes that would have taught me a couple of more things and I wouldn’t be here in this vulnerable position.”
So my admonition — learn some multiple skills, or should we say, back-up skills for the 21st Century and no better place to learn them than in what you’re already doing now.
To Your Success,
Jim Rohn

John C. Maxwell: Create Opportunity-Part #2

Once you conquer the maze, you can turn around and guide others. To me, that is the highest form of success. I enjoy maximizing my own opportunities, but I find more satisfaction in helping others grow and achieve. Here are four ways you can become a mentor who opens doors for people to reach their own potential:

• Push them to grow. How often have you known people with remarkable gifts but no idea how to tap into them? Sometimes people don’t recognize their potential until someone points it out. Be that motivator. Help your colleagues identify their strengths, hone their talents and recognize their capabilities. It’s the greatest gift you can give.
• Be open to their questions. Let others gain from your wisdom and experience. Good leaders are accessible to their top performers and take time to answer their questions. Your wins and losses can be a gold mine for developing leaders. When you share how you think, your people gain insight that makes them productive beyond their personal experience.
• Give them chances to change. Are your people innovative? Do they like to develop new ideas? Give people ownership and allow them to problem-solve, create new products, or interview new team members. When people contribute to meaningful change, they feel pride in the organization’s success and responsibility for it.
• Provide opportunities for them to win. Momentum is a leader’s best friend. Your team needs regular opportunities to win together. I  like to encourage friendly competition among my team. I offer incentives based on measurable results and watch my people push each other to victory. It’s a fun way to improve performance, increase profits and build team unity.
Opening doors for yourself and others builds a culture that celebrates growth, change and risk-taking. Opportunity-seeking can, in fact, become a habit. Tell your team members to be on the lookout for opportunities to improve themselves, the team and the company. Ask people to look at your processes, products and procedures with fresh eyes.
By doing so, you’ll take your business to a whole new level. You may find that team members begin to come to you with their new ideas and opportunities. When you communicate that you value, appreciate and implement good ideas from any source, you set your team up for success and encourage individual contributions.
Author Orison Swett Marden once said, “Don’t wait for extraordinary opportunities. Seize common occasions and make them great. Weak men wait for opportunities; strong men make them.” That is great advice. Start opening doors and never stop. Life is full of opportunity for those who are willing to look for it.

John C. Maxwell: Create Opportunity-Part#1

John C. Maxwell: Create Opportunity

When opportunity knocks, will you answer the door … and hold it open for others?
People sometimes ask me when I plan to retire. They seem to think that I “deserve” to take it easy and put my feet up at this stage in my life. Maybe they believe retirement is a prize you win at the end of a long and healthy career.
The truth is that I can’t imagine retirement. My prize is finding more ways to impact others: I just turned 67, and I’m more conscious of the opportunities to do that than ever. It’s a good thing, too, because the possibilities keep coming. There’s a phenomenon I call “success momentum”—the ability to see an opportunity, seize it, capitalize on the success and then jump at the next chance.
Here’s a good way to think about life: Picture yourself walking through a maze. You’ll test all sorts of doors, some of which might take you to new and interesting avenues, some of which might dead-end. If you just keep opening doors and moving forward, eventually you will arrive someplace worthwhile.
You can build success momentum, too. The open doors of opportunity are all around you, but they won’t do you much good unless you learn to see them and recognize when to walk through them. Let’s consider how you can align yourself with the opportunities coming your way, and open doors for yourself.
• Keep walking. On your journey, you won’t find lights illuminating your path or signs stating that your destination nears. You could be on the verge of success and not even know it. Push forward! Perseverance pays. Most people don’t get to the open door because they don’t walk far enough. As Norman Vincent Peale said, “It’s always too early to quit!”
• Keep searching. Try new things. Watch to see what works for others.
• Keep clarifying. It is easy to miss an opportunity if you don’t know what you are looking for. The most successful people wake up each morning with a clear sense of what they want to create in their lives. That clarity of purpose makes it easy to identify a good opportunity.
• Keep working. As Thomas Edison said, “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” I love that! Nothing worthwhile in life comes free. If you want bigger and better things, you have to be willing to work for them.
• Keep opening. Too many people get to one door, go through it, and say, “Whew!” They don’t realize that taste of success is really just a nibble. The only advantage of going through the first door is that it leads to a second door. A dozen doors later you are really starting to experience success.

MAKING THE TOUGH CALL WHEN EVERYONE’S EYES ARE ON YOU!

MAKING THE TOUGH CALL WHEN EVERYONE’S EYES ARE ON YOU By John C. Maxwell

Entire countries come to a standstill during the World Cup soccer tournament, as people pause from their daily routine to tune into the action. Part of the excitement comes from the fact that games are often decided by a single goal. One well-timed kick can make all the difference.
With such a small margin separating victory and defeat, the decisions made by referees play a significant role in determining the outcome of a match. This is particularly true when two players collide within the penalty box, and officials must determine whether or not a foul has been committed. If so, a penalty shot is awarded and one team gains a golden opportunity to score a goal.
With tens of thousands of spectators in the stadium, and millions of fans watching on television, referees are under immense pressure to make the right call. Whatever decision they make will be subject to endless scrutiny and fierce criticism.
Like soccer refs, leaders eventually face situations that require making a tough call. Each tough call has the following in common:
- It demands a risk. If it’s easy or comfortable, then it’s not a tough call.
- It will be second-guessed and criticized. You will never make a tough call and have unanimous support for your decision.
- It is costly. You will lose sleep over it, sacrifice finances because of it, and perhaps even sever relationships as a consequence of it.
- If made correctly, a tough call will lead to a breakthrough that lifts your leadership to a higher level.
How do make good decisions in circumstances where the right choice is not perfectly clear and where so much is at stake? Let’s return to the analogy of the soccer referee for guidance. A good referee…
1) Makes a timely decision
A referee does not wait several minutes after blowing his whistle to issue his decision. As soon as he stops play, the official confidently steps forward to signal whether or not an infraction taken place.
If you tend to dread the finality of taking a stand or calling the shots, you may be tempted to put off the decision. It’s easy to rationalize your unwillingness to decide.
For example:
• “That can wait. There’s no reason to rush. We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.”
• “It’s such a tough call. It could go either way. I’m just not sure, so I’ll reflect on it for a while.”
• “It’s a lose-lose decision, where someone’s going to get hurt regardless. So why not put if off and postpone the damage as long as possible?”
If any of these comments sound familiar, your challenge is to condense the timeframe in which you make your decision. Although you may trick yourself into believing that “it can wait,” a cloud of worry will hover over your head until you take initiative to make the call.
2) Refuses to surrender the decision to others
A good referee refuses to be swayed by the crowd, and makes his judgment according to personal observation rather than the emotions of spectators.
Likewise, competent leaders make decisions after weighing the evidence in light of their vision and values. Rather than seeking to please their people or to pacify their critics, leaders ground their choice on what’s best for the long-run health of the organization.
3) Does not say “yes” to everything
Soccer players notoriously try to influence the officials, diving to the turf in exaggerated pain in the hopes of persuading a referee to call a foul. Thus, a good ref frequently denies players’ requests for a foul to be called, refusing to blow the whistle every time a player falls to the ground in apparent agony.
You’re not making smart decisions if you’re always giving the go-ahead or thumbs-up. By saying “yes” to everyone; you’re not being helpful and empowering. Instead, you’re irresponsibly robbing resources from what matters most.
Question to Consider
How has making a tough call led to a breakthrough in your leadership?

Rules for Accurate Thinking by Napoleon Hill

Now I will give you seven rules to follow which, if you memorize them and follow them as a daily habit, may bring you top-rating as an ACCURATE THINKER.

1. Never accept the opinions of other people as being facts until you have learned the source of those opinions and satisfied yourself of their accuracy.
2. Remember that FREE ADVICE, no matter from whom it is received, will bear the closest of examination before it is acted upon as safe, and generally speaking this sort of advice is worth exactly what it costs.
3. Alert yourself immediately when you hear anyone speaking of others in a discourteous or slanderous spirit because this very fact should put you on notice that what you are hearing is BIASED to say the least about it, and it may be out and out misstatements.
4. In asking others for information DO NOT DISCLOSE TO THEM WHAT YOU WISH THE INFORMATION TO BE, because most people have the bad habit of trying to please under such circumstances. Well measured, tactful questions can be of great benefit to you in THINKING ACCURATELY.
5. Remember that ANYTHING WHICH EXISTS ANYWHERE THROUGHOUT THE UNIVERSE IS CAPABLE OF PROOF, and where no such proof is available it is safer to assume that NOTHING EXISTS!
6. One of the great inexplicable miracles consists in the fact that both truth and false-hood, no matter by what means they may be expressed, carry with them silent, invisible means of identifying themselves as such. Therefore, remember this truth and begin developing the necessary intuitive faculty to enable you to “sense” what is false and what is true.
7. Follow the habit of asking “HOW DO YOU KNOW?” when anyone makes a statement you cannot identify as true. Follow this habit faithfully and you will see many persons squirm and turn red in the face when you insist upon a direct reply.
The most ACCURATE THINKERS are the scientists. They investigate with open minds and never allow their WISHES TO BECOME THE FATHERS OF FACTS, but deal with each fact as it is – not as they would like it to be.
Now, one final word of warning I feel I should leave with you: STUDY YOURSELF CAREFULLY AND YOU MAY DISCOVER THAT YOUR OWN EMOTIONS ARE YOUR GREATEST HANDICAP IN THE BUSINESS OF ACCURATE THINKING. It is easy to believe that which you wish to believe, and unfortunately that is precisely what most people do!

Simply G Media Network today announces the release of an interview with author Nate Scott on The Simply G Radio Show with host Neil Haley, the Total Tutor.

Neil Haley, The Total Tutor host of the Simply G Radio show, interviewed Nate Scott to find out why he became an entrepreneur, learn about his background, hear the story of how he made his first million, and understand why he wrote the book “Life Is Rich”.
Scott, who is a financial engineer, business strategist, corporate leader, and sales driver, has 20 years of private sector and military leadership success under his belt. According to his resume, his value is his ability to contribute to and enhance the brain trust directing the business by structuring an organization to position it for growth, aligning the teams so they execute the strategy, or cultivating symbiotic, mutually beneficial relationships internally and externally to the business. He is also a U.S. Army veteran, Captain and Ranger.
In the interview, Scott explained that he was a Desert Storm veteran who wanted to be an entrepreneur. Scott said he initially turned down academic scholarships to enlist in the US Army. Following Desert Storm, he attended West Point. After graduation, he was introduced to personal growth development and entrepreneurship. What he learned going to workshops, reading books, attending seminars, and being around successful people helped him grow his professional career and eventually helped him earn his first million dollars.
“Successful people are always in pursuit of excellence,” said Scott, who mentioned that keys to finding success include having a great coach and securing a strong education. “You are a direct reflection of the books you read and the people with whom you surround yourself. No great player is ever successful without a great coach. People need to remember that.”
When it comes to motivation, Scott explained what drives him every day. “I am always about giving value and servicing people. I am a personal CFO. This is why I wrote the book Life is Rich: How to Create Lasting Wealth.”
Finally, Scott shared how he made his first million. According to Scott, he was able to structure a deal to acquire high-end proprieties. He then found another forty unit complex to purchase. It was in Cumberland, Maryland. He ran the numbers on paper. He did not have the money to buy it outright, so he negotiated with the seller until he could buy the property. Within 5 years he became a documented millionaire by the age of 32.
Author and entrepreneur GJ Reynolds said, “Nate understands the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people and is a key factor to having success. Nate lives this and teaches it as well.”

Leadership Tips Learned from John C. Maxwell

GJ Reynolds Entrepreneur Vi 5 Star Ambassador Discusses The First John C. Maxwell Mentorship Session on the Simply G Radio Show, a Division of The Simply G Media Network

Neil Haley, the Total Tutor host of the Simply G Radio Show, interviewed Entrepreneur and ViMillionaire GJ Reynolds to discuss what he learned from John C. Maxwell in Atlanta and how he will be mentored by Maxwell over the next year.

Reynolds is an original founding member in the company ViSalus and is now a 5 Star Ambassador, Vi Millionaire, and CEO of Simply G Media. He has written a book titled The Playful and Powerful Warrior Within You and holds the distinction of completing the Dale Brown Challenge by working out for more than 950 days straight (and counting).
Reynolds saw the unbelievable opportunity to be mentored by John C. MaxwellTo be a high performer, you have to surround yourself with the right people and other high performers. “John is considered number one when it comes to leadership.”, said Reynolds. Reynolds also mentioned how impressed he was by Maxwells six hours of instruction in Atlanta. I have never been in a room, training, or school where I took as many notes as in Atlanta. I took 44 pages of notes. Everything out of John’s mouth was a nugget. Great information and very applicable.
During the interview, Reynolds was able to share some important nuggets from the training. He said, One key nugget of information is to never do your business alone. You should have an accountability partner. John gave examples of people who isolated themselves and how it hurt their business in the long run. I am definitely doing it with somebody.
Reynolds also discussed another one of Maxwells teachings called The Five Es, which stand for environment, example, expectations, equipping, and emotional stability & capacity. GJ went on to share, My strength is emotional stability & capacity. My weakness has been equipping others effectively. I realized I am able to do a better job equipping people.
Reynolds also shared, There are five levels for equipping people: I do it; I do it you’re with me; I do it and I am with you; you go do it, I am watching; you do it, somebody else is with you. The majority of the people had emotional stability & capacity as their strength and equipping as their weakness. I found this very profound. Strong emotional people tend to just want to go and get it done. I realized I am able to be a better teacher.
Reynolds discussed on the radio show that Maxwell teaches the importance of intentionality and hunger. Here is what I choose to do it and having the hunger to go after it.

The Magic Plan by Napoleon Hill

“A man cannot directly choose his circumstances, but he can choose his thoughts, and so indirectly, yet surely, shape his circumstances.”

As surely as the sun rises in the East and sets in the West, here is a plan that will transform your personality into whatever you wish it to be:
Place this page on the walls of your room. Each night before you retire, relax, shut out all other thoughts and repeat the following, with firm determination to build it into your character, keeping your eyes fixed upon the picture of each character as you repeat the words which indicate the qualities you wish to build by emulating that character:
LINCOLN: As I look upon your face I definitely pledge my earnest efforts to develop in my own character those qualities of patience, tolerance and love for all humanity, the weak and the strong, friend and foe, which were your distinguishing marks. I will emulate your example by looking for the good there is in others and by developing a love for justice.
EMERSON: As I look upon your face I resolve to develop in my own character those qualities which helped you to leave your footprints on the sands of time, namely, the ability to read the handwriting of Nature, as it is written in the faces of men, in flowing brooks, in the flowers, in growing trees, in the singing birds, in the faces of little children and in the rocks of prison walls.
ELBERT HUBBARD: As I look upon your face I resolve to develop in my own character that rare ability, that was your distinguishing mark, to state my conclusions in words that vibrate with life, action and enthusiasm.
WASHINGTON: As I look upon your face I resolve to develop courage and the persistence with which to complete all that I undertake.
NAPOLEON: As I look upon your face I resolve to develop the strategic ability to lay hold of the organized forces that are available for my use, and to develop the self-confidence to master all handicaps which come my way. You shall serve as a constant reminder that the quitter never wins; that eternal vigilance and the courage to carry on in spite of every obstacle are the price of success.

North Carolina Tarheel and NBA Legend Sam Perkins Talks About His Charity Work

      • Neil Haley, The Total Tutor host of the Total Celebrity Show, interviewed Sam Perkins to find how he prepared for life after basketball, to discuss his current projects and to learn about his charity work.

North Carolina Tarheel and NBA Legend Sam Perkins Talks About His Charity Work and Life After Basketball on The Simply G Media Network

Simply G Media Network today announces the release of an interview with NBA Legend Sam Perkins with host Neil Haley, the Total Tutor.

Neil Haley, The Total Tutor host of the Total Celebrity Show, interviewed Sam Perkins to find how he prepared for life after basketball, to discuss his current projects and to learn about his charity work.
Perkins, who was a member of the 1984 gold-medal winning U.S. Men’s Olympic basketball team, was selected with the fourth pick of the 1984 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks and played in the NBA for 17 seasons. In 2008, he was named vice president of player relations for the Indiana Pacers, a team for whom he played from 1999-2001. Perkins currently works with the NBA as a consultant.
In this interview, Perkins discussed the transition between playing in the NBA to life after basketball.
“The transition is kind of hard because you have been doing this your whole life,” said Perkins. “I played 17 years in the NBA. But I prepared while I was playing. I did a lot of commentating on Pacers radio. I was prepared to be a student of the game. You would like to learn the business. You want to read contracts, talk with players where they should be going. Once you stop, you have to ask yourself, What am I going to do next? If you like the NBA, you want to go back mentor players.”
While in Los Angeles, Perkins said, he learned about broadcasting. He said he attached himself with the local radio stations.
“When I got into L.A. it was the middle of my career, so I got involved with the radio stations. Once I was in Seattle I had a radio show with music. I had music show every Sunday in Seattle.”
Perkins explained that he learned the real ins and outs of the game off the court when he played in the NBA.
“I have been with four teams,” he said. “The PR team for each city taught me how to do appearances. They mentored me. They encouraged me to get involved with fundraisers and charities. I attached myself to Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and the Special Olympics.”
CEO of Simply G Media GJ Reynolds said, “Sam was a student of game. He learned the ins and outs of basketball and has applied them off the court successfully.”

        Self-Confidence Formula by Napoleon Hill

        1. I know that I have the ability to achieve the object of my definite purpose in life; therefore, I demand of myself persistent, continuous action toward its attainment, and I here and now promise to render such action.

        2. I realize the dominating thoughts of my mind will eventually reproduce themselves in outward, physical action, and gradually transform themselves into physical reality; therefore, I will concentrate my thought, for thirty minutes daily, upon the task of thinking of the person I intend to become, thereby creating in my mind a clear mental picture.
        3. I know through the principle of autosuggestion, any desire that I persistently hold in my mind will eventually seek expression through some practical means of attaining the object back of it; therefore, I will devote ten minutes daily to demanding of myself the development of self-confidence.
        4. I have clearly written down a description of my definite chief aimin life, and I will never stop trying, until I shall have developed sufficient self-confidence for its attainment.
        5. I fully realize that no wealth or position can long endure, unless built upon truth and justice; therefore, I will engage in no transaction that does not benefit all whom it affects. I will succeed by attracting to myself the forces I wish to use, and the cooperation of other people. I will induce others to serve me, because of my willingness to serve others. I will eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness, and cynicism, by developing love for all humanity, because I know that a negative attitude toward others can never bring me success. I will cause others to believe in me, because I will believe in them, and in myself. I will sign my name to this formula, commit it to memory, and repeat it aloud once a day, with full faith that it will gradually influence my thoughts and actions so that I will become a self-reliant, and successful, person.
Back of this formula is a law of nature that no man has yet been able to explain. The name by which one calls this law is of little importance. The important fact about it is—it works for the glory and success of mankind, if it is used constructively. On the other hand, if used destructively, it will destroy just as readily. In this statement may be found a very significant truth, namely, that those who go down in defeat, and end their lives in poverty, misery, and distress, do so because of negative application of the principle of autosuggestion. The cause may be found in the fact that all impulses of thought have a tendency to clothe themselves in their physical equivalent.
